A fond farewell

Hundreds of parishioners, community members and friends came out to honor Father Phil Schotzko, on his retirement. Father Phil, pastor of St. Raphael Catholic Church will retire on July 1, 2020. 

Last Wednesday evening, June 17 the St. Raphael parish honored him with a Drive-Thru Grab & Go Meal Farewell. 

Father Phil greeted each car load full of people with his characteristic smile and kindness. Cars lined up for blocks to help him celebrate his retirement. 

Father Phil grew up in Springfield, was ordained at St. Raphael in 1977 and has served in Springfield and the surrounding area for the past seven years.
