Godfredsen serving as interim at St. Johns Church

 Pastor Roger Godfredsen is the new interim pastor at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Springfield.  He began his duties July 2 and will serve the congregation until a new full-time pastor is hired.

Pastor Godfredsen lives in Milford, Iowa and commutes to Springfield each week.  He grew up in Spirit Lake, Iowa, graduated from Spirit Lake High School, served in the military, attended Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa and American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.  He earned his Master of Divinity Degree from Beyond the River Academy.  He is the father of four daughters.

Godfredsen has been a pulpit supplier for over twenty years.  He served congregations in Sheldon, Spencer, Estherville and Swea City, Iowa before coming to Springfield.  He served as pastor at Christ Lutheran Church, Stately Township for a number of  years.
