United Methodist Church celebrates 150 years

“Faith in Action, Empowering Generations” is the Springfield United Methodist Church’s theme for it’s 150th Anniversary being observed during 2024.  It is based on Matthew 5:16—In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

The congregation has a number of special events planned throughout the year, beginning with a special worship service this coming Sunday, April 14 at 10:00 a.m.  The service will include District Superintendent Woojae Im and a special recorded message from Bishop Lanette Plambeck.  Other events include a music celebration on May 5, a pie & ice cream social during Riverside Days, a church history focus July 21, worship in the park August 25 and worship with former pastors September 15.  The public is invited to attend the events.
