Becca Greiner is new local Runnings store manager

Becca Greiner is the new manager of Runnings in Springfield. Her first day as store manager was May 13 and she is excited to be a part of the local business community. She replaces Max Wigg who was transferred to the Redwood Falls location.
Greiner began working for Runnings as an associate in the farm and animal health departments at the Brookings, South Dakota store while attending college. In January 2023, she transferred to the Hutchinson, Minnesota store where she did her management training.
Becca grew up in the Hutchinson, Minnesota area. Her parents have a farm near Brownton where they raise British White Cattle. “Throughout my childhood and teen years, I was very involved with 4-H, FFA and open classes, where I would show the cattle I raised along with my horses,” she said in a recent interview.
Greiner is excited about her new position in the local store. She enjoys all the people she is working with and all the customers that shop at the store. “I have been with Runnings for over two years and before that I worked almost exclusively in retail. My favorite thing about working in this industry is the people I meet. Whether it is a customer that I first meet or other employees around the company, I just love listening to people and their stories,” she commented.
She has no major changes planned for the business. As far as management style is concerned, she tries to run her store like she runs her life—treating others the way you want to be treated. “As employees of Runnings, our job is to take care of the customers--answer their questions, explain how something works and treat them with kindness,” she said.
Becca’s first impression of the Springfield community is that it is charming and cute. Everyone has been so kind and welcoming and she enjoys seeing how everyone takes pride in the community. “My husband and I are excited to move to the area,” she said. “Everyone has been very nice and helpful as I make this transition. Thank you everyone,” she concluded.
