Class of 1954 gather for 70th class reunion

The Springfield High School Class of 1954 gathered for lunch at Tommy’s Steakhouse Thursday noon, August 22, for what likely will be their last class reunion, the 70^th.  Eleven persons were present—eight classmates, two spouses and the daughter of Ruth and Norman Prins, Lynn Schimmel.  Pastor Dennis Hier, President of the class, led and planned the meeting.  Letters from classmates were shared and gifts were given to all those present.  “Yes, we’re getting older, but our friendships and appreciation for one another, our teachers and our hometown remains,” Hier commented.

The group would like to thank Rhonda Larson for making the delicious anniversary cake and Tommy’s Steakhouse for their gracious hosting of the event.
