Life lessons about early settlers told during museum program
“The Settler,” a trunk program offered by the Brown County Historical Society was presented at the Springfield Area Historical Society Museum on Friday afternoon, July 26. The program featured information and artifacts used by early settlers on prairies of the Midwestern United States.
BCHS Executive Director Kathleen Backer demonstrated the making of butter. Alexander Kruger, a BCHS intern, shared information about artifacts typical of those used by the early settlers of Brown County. Those attending had the opportunity to make butter.
