Local quilt club to sponsor Underground Railroad speaker

Do you know what the Underground Railroad is all about? You are invited to the Springfield Public Library to learn how quilt squares helped slaves to know where to travel to find their freedom during the 1800s.
Virginia Landkammer will take you through their walk with the quilt squares. Her presentation will be Tuesday, June 13 at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join the group on the journey through history. There will be no admission charge.
Memory Makers Quilt Club is sponsoring this event. You don’t have to be a quilter to enjoy the evening. However, if you want to learn more about quilting, join the ladies of the club on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Public Library.
