Maxine Meine was presented the Paul Harris Fellowship Award by long-time Rotarian Brian O’Leary last week Tuesday during the local club’s weekly meeting.

Maxine Meine earns Rotary's Paul Harris Fellowship Award

The Springfield Rotary Club awarded Maxine Meine with their Paul Harris Fellow Award during their July 14 noon lunch meeting at Tommy’s Central Street Steak House.

The award, named after the founder of Rotary International, is given to Rotarians and non-Rotarians every year for their service to the club and to the community.

Meine is active in her community and church, and currently is president of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce. She is a past president of the Springfield Rotary Club and has coordinated several major projects during her tenure.

Announcement of the award came as a complete surprise to Meine, and she responded by saying that she is “honored to receive the fellow award,” thanked all, and encouraged all to carry on the good works of Rotary.
