Team sought for Target Field climb
Anyone who would like to enjoy a baseball-themed, fun-filled evening at beautiful Target Field, is encouraged to join the team, Stepping Up for Shelly, that is being organized in search of a cure for Cystic Fibrosis (CF) in memory of Shelly Ochs.
The Minneapolis Summer CF Climb is a challenging and unique fitness event where participants will get to climb the stairs around Target Field in a test of endurance and time. Whether climbing to improve timing or to simply cross the finish line, this event is a great way to spend the day with co-workers, friends or family while “Adding Tomorrows” for people with cystic fibrosis. At the end of the climb, participants celebrate at the survivor party with food and entertainment.
Becky Vogel is hoping to organize a team to participate in the CF fundraising event in memory of her sister, Shelly, who would have celebrated her 50th birthday this year. “It would be awesome if we could get one person for each year of this anniversary,” Vogel says. “So I am looking for 50 (or more) people who would be willing to join a team and participate in the first CF Climb at Target Field Saturday, June 27. There are 1,350 steps to conquer; however, this is not a timed event nor are participants required to make the entire climb. Participation fee is $25 per climber and the minimum fund-raising requirement is $100, but, “I’m hoping that as a team we could far exceed that amount,” Vogel said.
