‘Bethlehem’ being prepared for visitors

This is a busy week for the Springfield Area Nativity Theatre Association as they prepare for the thirtieth season of the Springfield Nativity Pageant next week.

The “Little Town of Bethlehem” will be set up at the football field in Riverside Park Saturday, December 5, starting at 9 a.m.  

The backdrop for the pageant has been repainted by local artist Neil Neidt, who originally designed and painted the backdrop 25 years ago. Painting of the mural was done last week in the machine shed at the Curt Frederiksen farm. Volunteers who helped with the painting included SANTA’s set and staging director Ben Luense, Kurt Glaeseman, Jack Hartjes, Cheryl Neidt, Bobbi Maurer, Abby Baumann, Lore Buchét and James Hoffmann.
