Board of Education elects officers, makes committee assignments

The annual reorganization of Springfield School District 85 Board of Education was conducted during their first meeting of year 2017 on the evening of January 9.

All officers were re-elected. Charles Tews is chairman of the board.  Jeff Kretsch is clerk, Megan Quesenberry is treasurer, and directors are Mandy Rasset, Justin Roiger, Eric Schwarzrock and Mike Vogel. 

Board members were assigned to committees. There are 15 committees and each board member serves on a number of committees.

The board voted to continue to hold regular monthly meetings on the second Monday, at 7:00 p.m.  

The Springfield Advance-Press was designated as the district’s official newspaper.

The Farmers & Merchants Bank was designated depository for school district funds. 

The Farmers & Merchants Bank, First National Bank, and the Minnesota School Districts Liquid Asset Fund were designated as depositories for school district investments.  (Local banks must bid within .25% of the MSDLAF quote if they are to get the bid.)
