Children’s hand-printed quilt might be one treasured piece you’d like to get your hands on!

There are some things you just don’t want a child’s handprints on — walls, windows, glass tables.  But when you put a child’s handprint on a quilt, however, the result is a one-of-a-kind creation that is sure to become a treasured keepsake.

A special hand-printed quilt and a couple of other hand-crafted pieces will be offered for sale at the silent auction held in conjunction with the St. Raphael School fifth annual Cadillac Dinner the evening of March 11.

The quilt was created with the labor of love by Peg Groebner, who owns and operates Hometown Quilters in Clements, with the help of Beth Steffl’s 2016-‘17 kindergarten class who did the hand printing — each on separate squares of fabric.

Monica Luckhardt helped with some stitching and the binding of the quilt, and Kahla Petersen made the screen print in the center of the quilt identifying St. Raphael School. Groebner furnished all the materials for the quilt and then did the quilting on her quilting machine.

Groebner also made a table runner that was hand-printed by Allison Nachreiner’s first- and second-grade; and a hearts and hands board that was hand-printed by Tanya Hovland’s Little Panthers pre-school class.

If this is a quilt you’d like to get your hands on, think about putting in a bid on it at the Cadillac dinner.
