EMS Week a good time to learn more about local services

This week is National EMS Week, and its campaign theme is “Stronger Together.”

The annual EMS STRONG campaign provides opportunities to recognize the emergency medical services community, enhance and strengthen the profession on a national level, and expand and celebrate National EMS Week, May 20-26, 2018.

During Emergency Medi-cal Services Week, we express our gratitude for the skilled personnel who help save lives in our local community as well as in communities across the United States.   Through the hard work and dedication of these career and volunteer first responders, Americans receive the finest emergency medical treatment in their most vulnerable moments.

Springfield Ambulance Service has 19 members on its crew: Team Captain Adam Grant, Dave Wahl, John Roiger, Laurie Cook, Rick Cook, Elsie Groebner, Cindy Gewerth, Al Larson, Nick Weisensel, Kris Lorenzen, Brenda Anderson, Cliff Heglund, Paula Barnes, Kimberly Jahnke, Lupe Trevino, John Nicholson, Tony Linan, Lyn Johnson and Cathy Lang.

EMS Week brings together local communities and medical personnel to honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine’s “front line.”  This week is a good time to express your appreciation to them.  A good time to show your appreciation and support could be at their Build-A-Burger fundraiser at the Springfield Ambulance Gar-age on Marshall Avenue on Tuesday, May 22, from 4:30 to 7:00. They’ll be serving up burgers and root beer floats.
