Holiday Open House coming soon
Get into the holiday spirit at Springfield’s Holiday Open House, Wednesday, November 13 from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
There’s a wonderful evening planned and you can help Springfield businesses kickoff the holiday season. This is an excellent opportunity to see the many products and services available to shoppers this holiday season.
Area business owners have been busily preparing for the event.
Rachelle Rients from a Nu You Massage stated, “We’ll have a new selection of gift items.” A Nu You likes to carry natural Minnesota made items. They will also feature their new medical device for micro circulation therapy. In addition, they will also have a special vendor at the Holiday Open House, Sundown Refinery, who specializes in handmade wreaths, signs and baby items.
Over at Springfield Floral they will also have a good variety of gift shopping, said Char Frank. In addition, they’ll have special discounts for holiday décor purchased directly off of the trees inside the store.
Over on the highway, Runnings Dept. Manager Jackie Roiger said, they will have drawings worth over $200 beginning at 4:30 and running until 8:00 p.m. In addition, the big man himself, Santa will be at the store from 5:00-7:00.
At Springfield Market, they will have stations set up with different samples, explained Manager Brady Schneeberger. “We try to mix it up every year,” he said with a smile adding, “that the bakery will also be sharing samples of their new Candy cane bread.”
These are just a few of the many items and discounts that area businesses are providing at the Holiday Open House.
There’s plenty to do during the evening’s festivities.
There will be free horse-drawn carriage rides, beginning at Martha Anderson Park from 5:00 to 8:00.
In addition, complimentary hot chocolate and cookies will be served by Mayo Clinic Health System-Springfield at Martha Anderson Park from 5:00 to 8:00.
The Christmas tree lighting ceremony will happen at 6:30 p.m. at Martha Anderson Park.
Be sure to listen for the United Methodist Church Christmas Carolers who will be caroling from 6:30-7:30 p.m., in Downtown Springfield.
Santa will also stop in Springfield for the Holiday Open House. You can see him in Downtown Springfield from 5:00-8:00.
Be sure to stop by the Springfield Historical Society and view the many trees decorated by local organizations, businesses, churches, and volunteers.
