Local women win ribbons at Minnesota Gladiolus Society state show at fair

The Minnesota Gladiolus Society State Show held August 13 and 14 during the Brown County Fair provided flower lovers the opportunity to make exuberant large arrangements with unrestrained beauty of gladiolus, and use their skills to create arrangements to fit a variety of themes in the show.

Local women won honors and ribbons in the show.  

Margaret Moe won a blue ribbon, champion section, and champion wall pocket ribbon with her arrangement of red gladiolus accented with lime green mums, tufts and berries.

Cindy Moe won a blue ribbon with her interpretive arrangement of red and black gladiolus and large dominoes in games theme.  She won a red ribbon with her arrangement of red and black gladiolus in jacks games theme; and a red ribbon with her arrangement of green and white gladioli in a circle container and entered in marbles games theme.  

Arlene Helget won a blue ribbon with her wall pocket arrangement that featured a watering can filled with red gladiolus. She also won a blue ribbon with a vase of five pink gladiolus, that she grew in her garden.
