Meyers, Groebner to face off in May election
Claire Meyers of Morgan and Dennis Groebner of Clements were the top two vote-getters in the March 3 primary election in Redwood County’s third commissioner district. They will face off in the May 5 election for a seat on the Redwood County Board of Commissioners.
Voter turnout was low for the election on a snowy, stormy March day, with 365 residents casting ballots in the special election.
By comparison, more than 740 votes were cast in the county board election last November.
Meyers received the most votes in the election with 173, or 47 percent of the votes. Groebner received 139 votes for 38 percent. Teri Woodford received 28 votes in the election. Mary Larson received 19 votes. Joe Faugstad, who announced he was no longer seeking the position, received six votes.
