People’s Choice Award

Gina Windschitl of Sleepy Eye won the People’s Choice Award with her oil painting, titled “Painted Lady,” in the 2017 Juried Art Show at the Springfield Public Library.  The painted lady is a butterfly which resembles a monarch butterfly with orange/brown wings and black and white spots. The artist will receive a check for $150.  The seventeenth annual show had 39 artists entered with a total of 99 pieces on display. Prizes awarded after a judge’s review were announced at the reception and opening of the art show on October 18.  The Juried Art Show was a big success with many visitors and kind words of appreciation and amazement at the wide variety of art. Library Director Linda Roiger is pictured with the People’s Choice Award.
