Soybean and corn harvest in full swing

It’s been a wet fall and an early harvest was delayed because of the abundance of rain and soggy fields. During recent golden autumn days, local farmers took to the fields in earnest to harvest as many acres of soybeans and corn as possible while the sun shines.  More rain is forecast this week. It appears they have a chance for some good yields. This picture was taken at the Ralph Petersen farm northeast of Springfield Monday. Tim Petersen is in the combine.
