Sticker Field community pride project gets rave reviews
Eleven teams of young girls played ball during 31 games in the two new fields in Sticker Field and a third field in Riverside Park. All Saturday games were played at Sticker Field.
Despite the hot, humid weather, the tournament ran smoothly and attracted goodly numbers of spectators. “We were really happy with the strong turnout from the community,” said Paul Dunn president of the Springfield Area Softball Association, the organization coordinating the tournament.
