Minnesota’s 87 counties represented with remembrances of veterans
Story Stones, a Minnesota Military Family Tribute, will be dedicated Saturday, June 13, at the Minnesota State Capitol Mall.
Minnesota soldiers hail from each of the state’s 87 counties. Eighty-seven Story Stones will be arranged into clusters of nine northern hemisphere constellations. These stones serve as a unique visual connection between loved ones that are deployed, their families at home and the shared stars of the night sky.
Excerpts from correspondence sent between soldiers and family members are etched onto these stones, and provide a window into the lives of our military families and their sacrifices, as well as imparting a strong educational component.
