Students enjoy football story told by Tennessee Titan Tyler Marz

St. Raphael School celebrated the conclusion of I Love to Read Month on the morning of March 1 when local star athlete, Tyler Marz, an American football offensive tackle for the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League, read to the students.

Marz read the book “Family Huddle,” a short spin on the Manning family of football fame, and then answered the children’s questions about whatever they wanted to ask, and provided some autographs.

Marz has been spending the past couple of months in his hometown Springfield, visiting his parents, John and Dawn Marz, family and friends. He recently signed for his second year with the Titans, and while in Springfield he says he has been “hanging out and working out several hours a day trying to stay in shape,” helping with chores at home, and watching the Springfield High School Tiger basketball teams.  At the end of March, he plans to return to Tennessee where he will participate in organized team activities for several months. The Titans Football Camp starts in August, and Marz should at the very least earn a spot on the practice squad, but could still find himself on the Titans 53-man roster as a backup tackle.
