Tonn plays 1,000th disc golf course

Springfield’s Derek Tonn on February 27, became the 10th player in the 40-year history of the sport of disc golf to play at least 1,000 different disc golf courses around the planet.   He has played 1,011 courses across the United States (only missing Maryland and Delaware) and in three other countries — Canada, France and The Netherlands.   His 1,000th course was played on the morning of February 27 at the Inman Disc Golf Course in Inman, Kansas, where he was photographed.  Tonn, a cartographer, has also created a map that shows the locations of every course he has played over the years.
