Alice Boettger

Funeral service for Alice Boettger, 75, of Springfield, was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor David G. Fretham officiating.   Interment was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. Boettger died on Wednesday, April 19, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield. 

Alice Jane Schultz was born on April 27, 1941, in Springfield, Brown County, Minnesota, the daughter of Albert and Adina (Zimmermann) Schultz. She attended country school and graduated from Springfield High School. She worked at Lloyd’s Lumber in Mankato as a bookkeeper. Alice was united in marriage to Richard Boettger on Nov. 25, 1960, in Springfield. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Springfield Medical Center from 1979, retiring after 31 years of service. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Springfield and the Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, sewing, and quilting.

She is survived by her husband, Richard of Springfield; children, Roger (fiancée Nancy) Boettger of Springfield, Greg (Amy) Boettger of Springfield, Todd (Mary) Boettger of Owatonna, and Mark Boettger of Springfield; eight  grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Leona (Sonny) Willaby of Mt. Lake and Verna Timm of Lamberton; and a sister-in-law, Arlene Schultz of Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Adina Schultz; a brother, Arnold Schultz; and parents-in-law, Rudy and Rose Boettger; and in-laws, Harold and Bernice Boettger and Jack and Phyllis Hawthorne.
