Allan Prechel

Allan Prechel, 57, of Springfield, died Thursday, August 6, 2015, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester after a courageous battle with cancer.

Visitation from 4:30 to 6:30 followed by a Service of Remembrance were held at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield at Tuesday, August 11.  The Rev. Phil Schotzko conducted the service.

Allan Alvin Prechel was born December 3, 1957, in Comfrey. Al grew up in Springfield and worked at Sanborn Manufacturing Company and Bic Graphics. He and Carrie were married on June 12, 1993. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and cruisin’ in his Camaro.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie (Eckstein); children, Melissa Prechel of Redwood Falls, Amber Prechel of Redwood Falls, Nate (Carrie) Prechel of Redwood Falls and Nikki Prechel of Shakopee; sisters, Lucy Prechel of South Dakota, Mary (Dave) Swenson of Canby and Brenda (Steve) Kotton of Morgan; mother, Phyllis Juenemann of Springfield; and 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin, in 1963.
