Alphonse A. Mathiowetz, age 88, of Comfrey, died June 7, 2022 at the Sleepy Eye Medical Center. Funeral service was held on Saturday, June 11 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Comfrey. He was born on the family farm in Mulligan Township, Brown County, to Florentine and Helen (Hornick) Mathiowetz on July 1, 1933. Alphonse served on the Brown County ASC Board for nine years and as a Brown County Commissioner from 1994-1998.
