Alvin M. Arndt
Alvin Manfred Arndt died January 22, 2016. Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 30, at Zahrbock Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with interment in Hayden Cemetery at Madison.
Alvin Manfred Arndt was born to Julius and Emma Arndt on May 19, 1913, in Springfield, Brown County, Minnesota, at the home of his Grandmother Arndt. The family moved to Boyd in 1914, then to Gary, S.D., several years later, and finally to Madison, Minnesota, where the family permanently settled. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, in the European Theater during World War II. Alvin graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1948 and began a freelance career. He was in a specialty advertising business, Arndt Incorporated, for 25 years and then worked as a designer and medical display maker for the Cleveland Health Museum which contracted to a multi-state area.
He is survived by his wife, Marge, and cousins, including Dave Bittler of Springfield.
