Andy Lochner, 73, died Sunday, October 9, at his rural Sleepy Eye home, surrounded by family, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Lochner has a long record of public service. He was a Brown County Assessor for five townships for 22 years, was a Brown County commissioner for 20 years besides serving on many boards and committees. He served 15 years on the Sleepy Eye Public School Board. After his time on the county board, Lochner served on the Brown County Planning and Zoning and detox boards until early this year when his health no longer allowed it.
Funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 13, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye. Interment was in Home Cemetery with military honors.
