Angeline Steffl

Mass of Christian Burial for Angeline Steffl, 90, was held at 12:00 noon Saturday, May 13, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Comfrey. The Rev. Andy Michels officiated. Interment was in St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery, Springfield.

Mrs. Steffl died Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.

Angeline Ann Steffl was born Nov. 1, 1926, in Leavenworth Township, Brown County, Minnesota, to Clement and Philomenia (Groebner) Weiss. She attended eight years of schooling including Mulligan Township, Iberia, District 59 near Comfrey, St. Raphael Catholic School and Dotson. Angeline worked at Del Monte and Pietrus, and in her later years at Jackpot Junction for 12 years.

She lived on the farm with her father and siblings until her marriage to Lowell Steffl on Oct. 27, 1949, at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springfield. The couple farmed north of Lamberton until moving to a farm near Comfrey in 1956. They later moved into Comfrey. Angeline enjoyed travel with trips to Canada, California, Mexico, Texas, Las Vegas, Wisconsin Dells and Branson. Angeline was a very forgiving and kind mother who enjoyed coloring, gardening, canning, cooking, furniture re-finishing, antiques, crafts and sewing. Her pride and joy were her children, grandchildren and cherished friends.

She is survived by her children, Mary (Tom) Tauer of Sleepy Eye, Lowell Jr. ‘Bud’ (special friend Therese) Steffl of Mankato, Lawrence Steffl of Leavenworth, Jean Steffl of Comfrey, Sharon (Reggie) Prokosch of Hutchinson, Debra (special friend Brian) Hansen of Sleepy Eye, Patricia (Jeff) Gluth of Springfield, Gary (Mary) Steffl of Stillwater, and Doug (special friend Darcy) Steffl of Comfrey; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Bernice Rose of Morgan, and Mary Jane Windschitl of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lowell, in 2006; brother Clarence; and sister, Dolores.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Comfrey.
