Arlene Krebs

Arlene Krebs, 92, of Sleepy Eye, died on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. today (Wednesday, July 18) at St. Paul Lutheran Church; preceded by visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Pastor Tricia Mattson will officiate at the service.  Inurnment will be at the St. Paul
Lutheran Cemetery, Springfield.

Arlene Elizabeth Voge was born on July 22, 1925, in North Star Township, Brown County, Minnesota, the daughter of Herman A. and Marie L. (Haseleu) Voge. Arlene was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield. Arlene was united in marriage to Norman D. Krebs of Sleepy Eye on June 10, 1947, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield. The couple lived, farmed, and raised their family in Brookville Township, Redwood County. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, canning, listening and dancing to old time music. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and Brookville Harmony Homemakers.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Norman; daughters, Darliss (Mike) Rathman of Gibbon, Janice (Dennis) Schueler of Sleepy Eye, and Mavis (Doug) Hinderman of Sleepy Eye; sons, Kurt Krebs and Lyle Krebs, both of Sleepy Eye; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Edna (Elmer) Kettner, Margie (Chuck) Schwartz, and Mary Lou Schubbe; brothers, Alvin (Tina) Voge and Alfred (Betty Jean) Voge; and half-brother, Gerald Kettner.
