Bennett Juenemann, age 82 of Sanborn, died Monday, July 11, 2016, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.  Mass of Christian Burial was held July 15, at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Wanda.  Father Anthony Hesse officiated and interment was in St. Mathias Catholic Cemetery, Wanda.  Military Honors were provided by Wanda American Legion Post #385.  Arrangements were with Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.  On line condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Bennett Juenemann was born February 18, 1934, in Willow Lake Township, Redwood County, Minnesota to John and Agatha (Hillesheim) Juenemann. He attended country school, St. Anne’s Catholic Elementary School, and graduated from St. Anne’s Catholic High School in Wabasso in 1952. Bennett then attended Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, OK until 1954.  He served with the U.S. Army from September of 1954 until his honorable discharge in August of 1956. While serving his country, Bennett trained at Ft. Leonard Wood, was stationed in Germany in February of 1955, and returned to Minnesota in 1956. He married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Groff, on October 20, 1956, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Clements.  The couple was blessed with 10 children. Bennett farmed in Willow Lake Township his entire life and was a salesman for Archer Oil for over 50 years. He became a resident of St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield in November of 2014. He was member of St. Mathias Catholic Church in Wanda, sang in the choir, served on the Parish Council, Regional II Council, received the Catholic Aid Award, and the Bishop’s Medal of Service. He was a member of the Wanda American Legion. Bennett enjoyed farming with red machinery, lapidary, airplanes, Chrysler cars, and photography.  He also enjoyed traveling, trips to Branson, gardening, and visiting with his friends and neighbors.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife and family.

He is survived by his wife Shirley; children - Maureen (Dan) Miesen of Springfield, Michelle (Carl) Oswald of Lafayette, Celeste (Tom) Witucki of Winthrop, Vicki (John) Sellner of Sleepy Eye, Stephen (Sue) Juenemann of Sanborn, Paul Juenemann of Sanborn, Jane (Larry) Ferrian of Hutchinson, Heidi (Tim) Severson of Owatonna, Jennifer Buesing (special friend Steven Pollei) of Hutchinson, and Stacy (Lee) Staupe of Owatonna; 20 grandchildren;

4 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Bernice Goblirsch; brother Denis (Pat) Juenemann; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law - Angie and Tony Kidrowski, and Sheldon and Sharon Groff; brother-in-law Loren Groff; former son-in-law Perry Buesing; and many friends and neighbors.  He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law- Rangvold and Margaret Groff; grandsons - Jacob Ferrian and baby boy Miesen; brothers - Richard, Herbert and baby boy Juenemann in infancy; sisters and brothers-in-law- Dorothy and Clement Sellner, and Laurene and Gilbert Hoehn; brother-in-law Lawrence Goblirsch; and sister-in-law Dorothy Groff.
