Bonnie Lou Brown

Funeral service for Bonnie Lou Brown, 82, of Comfrey, was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, at New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey with Chaplain Noel Wetter officiating. Interment was in the Springfield City Cemetery.

Mrs. Brown died Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
 

Bonnie Lou Wendt was born September 6, 1934, to Arnold and Cleo (Jensen) Wendt in Springfield. She attended Springfield Public Schools and then worked as a waitress. She met and married Al Brown on May 18, 1952. They lived on the family farm near Comfrey until Al retired from farming. They were owners of Brown Transfer until their son, Mark, took over the business in the mid 1990s. Bonnie was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey and enjoyed camping, cooking. baking and taking care of her home. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family on vacations and trips to the lake.

 

She is survived by her children Mark Brown and wife Linda of Springfield, Paula and husband Steven Junker of Comfrey, and Steven Brown and wife Becky of Comfrey; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arnie and Cleo Wendt; husband, Allan, in 2011; and sisters, Janice Waskosky and Lois Halvorson.

Sturm Funeral Home in Comfrey assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
