Carolyn Dalsgaard

Funeral service for Carolyn Dalsgaard, 62, of Winnfield, Louisiana, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Springfield with Chaplain Noel Wetter officiating.  Interment will be in the Springfield City Cemetery. 

Visitation will be on Friday, Feb. 3, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield Chapel; and will continue on Saturday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the St. Johns Church.

Carolyn died unexpectedly on Jan. 19, 2017, at Jackson Co. Parish Medical Center in Joneboro, Louisiana.

Carolyn Margaret Dalsgaard was born to Willard and Lucille (Trapp) Dalsgaard on Jan. 12, 1955 in Springfield, Brown County, Minnesota. She attended Springfield Public School, graduating in 1973. She then attended Alexandria Vocational and Technical Institute and received her bachelors degree from N.W. State University in Natchitoches, La. Carolyn lived in Springfield and New Ulm, Minnesota, and in Many and Winnfield, La. She worked as a Medical Technologist at the New Ulm Medical Center, Many Community Hospital, Winn Parish Medical Center, and she was working at the Jackson Parish Medical Center at the time of her death. Carolyn was involved with the Community Baptist Church in Louisiana where she attended adult Sunday school. She enjoyed the yearly New Orleans Mardi Gras events, her luxury cars, pet cats, traveling at any opportunity, her jewelry, cheering on the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints, and cooking and baking. Carolyn’s joy was her nephews and she loved spending time with them.

She is survived by her siblings, Robert Dalsgaard, Susan Dalsgaard  and Delbert (Jodi) Dalsgaard, all of Springfield; and nephews, Timothy and Peter Dalsgaard. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.
