Darla Rae Knutson

Darla Rae (Reed) Knutson, 77, died at Pheasants Ridge in St. Peter on December 8, 2019. Darla was born at home in Elysian on May 6, 1942 to Dorothy (Wolters) and Edward Reed. She married James Knutson in 1961 and had three sons, Kelly, Kerry and Kim and raised them on the family farm in Nicollet. After her first husband’s death, she married David Bittler and moved to Springfield. 

   Darla is survived by two sons, Kelly (Julie) Knutson and Kerry Knutson, three grandchildren, George Weckman and Justin and Lindsey Knutson, her husband David Bittler, five sisters and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her son, Kim, brother, Paul Reed and both of her parents. 

   Honoring Darla’s request, family will gather privately to celebrate her life.
