Darlene Utz

Darlene Utz age 65, of Springfield died on April 29, 2021, at the Sleepy Eye Medical Center. 

Visitation was on Monday, May 3, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield and continued on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springfield. 

Service was held at the St. Raphael Catholic Church on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. 

The clergy was  Father Garrett Ahlers. Interment was at the St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery in Springfield.

Darlene Ann Utz was born in Springfield on Oct. 6, 1955 to Leo George and Gladys Frieda (Roiger) Haas.  She graduated from Sanborn High School in 1972.  Darlene married the love of her life on December 22, 2000 in Las Vegas, NV.  She loved to cook and bake for all her grandchildren and loved spending time gardening with Ken. 

She is survived by her husband Ken of Springfield, daughter Jennifer Hornick (Richard), son Steve Hornick (Mykhaila), grandchildren - Sheldon Roth, Colton Roth, Kaden Roth, Jaden Hornick, Jaxon Hornick, Tyson Hornick, Makenna Richter, and Connor Richter, brother Leo (Carol) Haas, sister JoAnn (Joe) Rothmeier, and brother Gene (Joyce) Haas.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother - David.
