Donna Leonard
Donna Leonard, age 72 of Truman peacefully passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at home. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 30 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Penny Ritter officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday 29, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Zaharia Family Funeral Home and continue one hour before the service. Burial will take place at Ridgelawn Cemetery.
Donna Jane was born July 24, 1949 to Albin & Delores (Grabow) Drusch in Sleepy Eye, MN. She attended school in Morgan, MN.
On April 12, 1969 she married Dennis Schiller. They made their home in Clements and then Redwood Falls, MN until his death. She later met Dudley Leonard at a bowling tournament, and they married on July 24, 1976. They made their home on the farm in Truman, MN prior to moving to town in 1999.
Donna sold Tupperware for many years while the kids were young. She also worked at Sears until its closing and then worked at Hy-Vee, Fairmont Medical Center and at the Truman school as a lunch lady. She was involved in the Lewisville American Legion Auxiliary, American Baptist Women through Community Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school superintendent. She was also a part of the United States Bowling Congress.
She enjoyed a variety of things throughout her life, from snowmobiling with her first husband to making beanbags for many people in the community. She painted ceramics, enjoyed fishing, playing beanbags and she absolutely loved to bowl. She was recently inducted into the Winnebago Bowling Hall of Fame. She also loved to cheer for "MY" Vikings and "MY" Twins. But what she cherished the most was spending time and making memories with her family. Her kids and grandkids were her world. Her and Dudley would take their motorhome wherever they needed to in order to be with those they loved the most.
Left to cherish such wonderful memories are her beloved husband Dudley, her children Darren (Sandy) Schiller of Cibolo, TX, Denise (Shawn) Davis of Waseca, MN, Dana (Deb) Schiller of Brainerd, MN, Nathan (Katrina) Leonard of Truman and Heather (Pat) Gilman of Lake Crystal, MN. The light of her life; 17 grandchildren; Ashlee, Matthew, Joseph, Owen, Connor, Caitlynn, Jadin, Sara, Malina, Autumn, Addi, Landyn, Tristan, Garrett, Taylin, Levi, Gabe and her great grandson Miles. She is also survived by her farther, Albin Drusch of Morgan, MN, siblings; Ardis (Darvin) Schiller of Morgan, MN, Janet (Doug) Koll of Sleepy Eye and Dean Drusch of Morgan and she was blessed to have numerous sisters and brothers-in-law as well as many other family and friends.
Donna is preceded in death by her mother, late husband and her in-laws; Wayne and Bernyce Leonard and Edward and Mildred Schiller.
