Doris Kosel

Funeral Service for Doris Kosel, 92, of Springfield, was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn with Pastor Matthew Sprunger officiating.  Interment was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. Kosel died Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at St. John Lutheran Home.

Doris Radtke was born September 15, 1922, to William and Helen (Arnhold) Radtke in Walnut Grove, Minnesota. Doris married Llewellyn Kosel on June 18, 1941, in Walnut Grove. Following marriage, the couple lived on their farm for 55 years. Doris and Llewellyn moved to Springfield in 2002. Llewellyn died in 2007. In January 2014, Doris moved to The Maples at St. John’s Circle of Care, and then to St. John Lutheran Home two months ago.

She is survived by children, Marsha (Jim) Renner of Waconia, Charlotte (John) Altermatt of Wanda, Brian (Linda) Kosel of Owatonna, and Kevin (Paulette) Kosel of Redwood Falls; 13 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Jean Anderson of Spencer, Iowa; and sister-in-law, Delores Knoll of Groton, S.D.
