Duane E. Isaksen, 80, of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at the CentraCare Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 21, at the First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Pastor Becky Thomas officiating.

Duane Ervin Isaksen was born February 1, 1936, in Windom, Minnesota, to Ervin and Erna (Meyer) Isaksen.  The family moved to a farm near Springfield when Duane was five years old.   Duane graduated from Springfield High School in 1954.   He was united in marriage to Carol Jensen at Sundown Lutheran Church on November 16, 1958.   Following their marriage, Duane and Carol moved to the Twin Cities and he worked as a machinist for multiple businesses.  Together, Duane and Carol raised two wonderful daughters.  He was a proud dad and father-in-law.  Duane enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and spending time at the lake.  He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.

Duane was a member of First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Carol Isaksen of Sauk Centre; and two daughters, Gwen (Patrick) Zeman of Fridley and Dawn Isaksen of Minneapolis.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Erna Isaksen.
