Edith A. King age 100, died on Monday, September 21, 2015, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield,
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 27, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at St. John Lutheran Home. Chaplain Noel Wetter will officiate at the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Sunday in the chapel. Interment will be at the Springfield City Cemetery.
Edith A. King was born on November 13, 1914, in New Ulm, Brown County Minnesota, the daughter of Fritz and Emma (Prahl) Buddensiek. She attended District 52 School in Brown County. She was united in marriage to Marvin King on July 8, 1941, at Salem Lutheran Church in Comfrey. Edith was involved with the Comfrey Senior Citizens, a member of Salem Lutheran Church and New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey. She enjoyed traveling, family, visiting, time with little children, playing cards, and flowers.
She is survived by sisters-in-law, Rosella Buddensiek of Mankato and Marilyn King of New Ulm; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, in 2002; and siblings, Melvin Buddensiek, Hilda Heller, Erma Colburn, and Rollie Buddensiek.
