Eldon Helget, 74, of Jordan, formerly of Leavenworth/Sleepy Eye, died May 25, 2019. Eldon was recently diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis, the cause of his death.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan.
Eldon Vernard Helget was born on Oct. 6, 1944, to Edwin and Alice (Braulick) Helget, one of 15 children. He grew up in Leavenworth near Sleepy Eye. He loved baseball and was on local teams through his childhood and high school. He served in the National Guard Reserves, and worked at Midland Glaass, then as a trucker and an outside lumber yard manager, and a driver for Wolf Motors and Genesis.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; five children; seven grandchildren; and 14 siblings including Lowell (Connie) Helget of Springfield; many nieces, nephews and friends.
