Elton L. Ahlness, age 100, of Springfield died on February 13, 2021, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Funeral Service will be held at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Springfield, on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
COVID-19 rules and regulations will be followed including the use of masks and social distancing.
The clergy will be Pastor Julie Smith & Chaplain Noel Wetter.
Interment will be at the Springfield City Cemetery.
Military Honors by the John Watson American Legion.
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.

Elton L. Ahlness was born on July 2, 1920 the son of Hans & Ida (Wee) Ahlness at home in rural Lincoln Township near Hanska, MN. He grew up and attended country school in District #38. Elton served in the United States Army from July of 1942 until he was honorably discharged on September of 1945. He returned from the military and farmed his entire life. He was married to Nadene Schwieger on June 19, 1947 at the Linden Parsonage, Hanska, MN. He was a member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church and the John Watson American Legion Post in Springfield.
Elton was preceded in death by his daughter, Vickie Nachreiner, daughter-in-law, Lisa Ahlness, parents, Hans and Ida Ahlness, siblings, Hazel Oren, Alpha Thordson, Edna Miller, Vernon, Julian & Myron Ahlness, step-brothers, Richard & Oscar Ahlness, step-sisters, Steena Johnson & Lena Nelson, brothers-in-law, Adolph Oren, Ray Thordson & Walter Miller, sister-in-law, Vernelle Ahlness, step sisters-in-law, Violet Ahlness & Agnes Ahlness, step brothers-in-law, Eddie Nelson & Joe Johnson.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Nadene Ahlness, children, Cindy (Denny) Krautkremer, Dave (Joni) Ahlness, Leslie (Robert) Hoffmann, Karen (Jerry) Krebs, Darwin Ahlness & Bruce (Shelly) Ahlness, son-in-law, Leonard Nachreiner, 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
