Eugene Heiling

Eugene Joseph Heiling, 88, of Redwood Falls, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at the Seasons Hospice in Redwood Falls.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls and burial was in the church cemetery.

He was born March 12, 1930, grew up on a farm near Redwood Falls. After high school he entered the U.S. Army as a tank commander, then continued in the National Guard and served in the Korean War. He married Sharon Ann Woelfel and they had been married for almost 65 years. Gene farmed and owned a grain bin business.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters, Charlene (John) Frank, Linda (Tom) Haak, Rhonda (Dan) DeMuth and Arlene Stenftenagel; sons, Jeff (Mary), Dave (Tami), Dan (Lorri), Duane (Cindy) Jim (Lisa) Scott (Tammy), and Chad (Stacey); 33 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Paul, Gerald, Gary, Mike and Mark Heiling, Dolly Bell and Mary Ann Johanneck.
