Gary Iverson

Gary Gilbert Iverson passed into the arms of God Monday, September 28, 2020 in Rosemount, Minnesota.  Gary passed very peacefully, with his beloved wife of 50 years and his children by his side.

Gary was born October 14, 1946 in Springfield, Minnesota to Gilbert and Gertrude (Muenchow) Iverson.  He was the youngest of three children, and their only son.  He graduated from Springfield High School—Class of 1964.  He was drafted to the Army and served in Germany during the Vietnam War.  Upon his return from Vietnam he attended Brown Institute earning a degree in Computer Programming.  He also met Linda, and they were wed on September 26, 1970.  Over 50 years of marriage, they built a wonderful life.  Gary began a career as a Computer Programmer, where he worked at GNB, Exide and eventually started and ran his own IT Consulting Business until his retirement.  They were blessed with three beautiful children:  Derek, Lance and Brook and eight wonderful grandchildren.  Family was the center of Gary’s life—he did anything and everything for them.  Whenever asked if something could be done, Gary always said “Well, I don’t know why not!”  Gary loved all things outdoors—and has instilled this same love in his own children.  He had a passion for camping, fishing and hunting—especially pheasant hunting.  As the pheasant season is upon us, we know that Gary is enjoying every minute of it in heaven.

Gary is survived by his wife, Linda; children Derek (Kristine) Iverson, Lance (Michelle) Iverson, and Brook (Ben) Holzinger; eight beautiful and loved grandchildren; sister Pearl Ziegenhagen and many more beloved family members and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Gertrude, and his sister, Phyllis.

Gary will be especially remembered for his beautiful blue eyes, his huge heart, his love of the outdoors, his family and life.

A private funeral service was held Wednesday, October 7, 2020.  Interment was held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
