Georgine Hofmann

Georgine Hofmann, 85 of Sanborn, died Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Visitation Sunday, May 17, at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield preceded the funeral service at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 18. Pastor Matthew Sprunger officiated at the service. Interment was in the Sanborn City Cemetery.

Georgine Ann Hofmann was born February 21, 1930, in Charlestown Township, Brown County, Minnesota, to Reinhart and Josephine (Haak) Weber. She graduated from Sanborn High School and was united in marriage to John Hofmann on October 25, 1949, at the St. Thomas Parsonage in Sanborn. Georgine was a lifetime resident of Sanborn and a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was a member of Zion Ladies Aid and enjoyed making blankets and stocking caps for the homeless, charity organizations, and the Veterans Administration. Georgine enjoyed crocheting and baking; she also enjoyed going to the lake and Texas, and especially cherished her time with the grandchildren.

She is survived by husband Johnnie of Sanborn; son Michael of Sanborn; daughters Vicki (Chuck) Roiger of Springfield, Trudy (Larry) Larson of Wabasso, and Theresa (Pat) Ryan of New Prague; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Arlene Wog of Lamberton; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Thomas in 1965; grandsons Calvin in 1981, and Jeremy in 1994; and daughter-in-law, Joanie, in 2000.
