Jeanette Fox

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Jeanette Fox, 93, of Sanborn, was held at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Sanborn at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 3, with The Rev. Phil Schotzko officiating.  Interment was in the Sanborn City Cemetery.

Mrs. Fox died Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. 

Jeanette Henrietta Leopold was born Oct. 7, 1923, in Charlestown Township, Redwood County, Minnesota, the daughter of Edward and Henrietta (Pape) Leopold. She married Elmo Peter Fox on Sept. 19, 1946, at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Sanborn where she was a lifelong member until the church’s closing. She and husband Elmo owned and operated the Fox Hardware Store for 42 years until retiring in 1989. Jeanette supported Elmo and was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She had a zest for life and enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canning, and cooking. She treasured her time with her family and dear friends and neighbors. 

She is survived by her two daughters, Marsha (Dwight) Davis of Mound and Brenda Fox of New Ulm; four grandchildren, Nichole (Gary) Kellen, Collin Davis, Stephanie (Adam) Cook, and Katie Davis; three great-grandchildren, Sam and Avery Kellen, and Hayden Pomroy; sister, Shirley Thram; and many nieces and nephews. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo; brothers, Alvin and Loren Leopold; and sisters, Myrtle Wolter and Margaret Fox.
