Jeanine Mae Walton, 85, died on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at Palisade Health Care Community in Garretson, SD.

Memorial services was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Faith Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Springfield.   

Jeanine Mae Schultz was born on Sept. 23, 1931, in Springfield, Brown County, Minnesota, to Edwin and Emily (Wendler) Schultz. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Springfield.   Jeanine was raised and received her education in Springfield.  

Following high school Jeanine was united in marriage with Leonard Marz; from this union Jeanine was blessed with four children, Michael, Douglas, Deborah and Patricia. 

Jeanine was united in marriage with Mike Walton on March 11, 1978, in Watertown, S.D.  The couple made their home in Princeton, Minn.  Jeanine first worked at Community State Bank in Princeton.  In 1983 She began working at Crystal Cabinets in Princeton as a night shift supervisor, retiring in 1995. Jeanine and Mike moved from Princeton to rural Sauk Rapids in 1987.  The couple moved to Sioux Falls, S.D., in 2000.   Jeanine is a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. 

Jeanine enjoyed shopping for antiques, playing card games, traveling — especially to Las Vegas, Nev., and, above all, spending time with her family.  Jeanine was a loving wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who will be dearly missed. 

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Mike Walton, Sioux Falls, S.D.; four children, Michael (Barb) Marz, Springfield, Douglas Marz, Springfield, Deborah (Gary) Groebner, Springfield, and Patricia (Gary) Wittman, Lake Lillian: four stepchildren, Scott (Lisa) Walton, Mitchell, S.D., Douglas (Stacy) Walton, Springfield, Rhonda (Kevin) Ludewig, Springfield, and Vikki (Glen) Morford, Sauk Rapids; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Russell (Janice) Schultz, Alexandria; sister-in-law, Joan Schultz, Willmar; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jeanine is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Emily Schultz; sister, Betty Schmidt; and one brother, Kenneth Schultz. An online guestbook is available at www.georgeboom.com.
