John Fredrick Timm (Cat) was born in Sleepy Eye, MN on January 19, 1958 to Fred and Marilyn Timm. He grew up in Fairfax, MN with his five siblings and enjoyed his youth where he met many of his lifelong friends. He graduated from Fairfax High School in 1976 and met his wife, LuAnn Nesburg, in 1980. They married in Fairfax on June 5, 1982.

He was a man of many skills and construction trades. Early in his career, he worked in the plumbing and HVAC field while he and his family lived in Apple Valley, MN for 12 years. John and his family then moved to Springfield, MN in 1994 where he worked at St. John Lutheran Home for seven years as maintenance supervisor. He then transitioned to work at Schwickert’s Inc. in Mankato, MN as purchasing manager for another 13 years. John spent countless hours driving back and forth to make sure he attended all his children’s sporting events. He then began work at Truman Schools for two years and most recently served as building supervisor at Cedar Mountain school in Morgan, MN for the last six years.

John and LuAnn were blessed with five children. He loved nothing more than to coach and watch his kids’ sports and activities and faithfully did so for 27 years. He was ALWAYS there for his children. School events, sports, post-game analysis and encouragement, college graduations, church events, car maintenance, house remodels, leaky faucets… he was always there. His family was his priority.

John was a proud grandpa of his seven grandchildren. He loved giving them “whisker rubs”, hearing their giggles and bringing them on lawn mower rides. He took pride in caring for his lawn, enjoyed golfing, fantasy football, grilling and smoking food, and spending quality time with neighbors, friends, and family. He will be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humor, servant heart, and humility.

John is survived by his wife, LuAnn, of nearly 39 years. His son Adam (Mary Jane) Timm, and daughters Heidi (Kyle) Kennedy, Naomi (Brandon) Timm-Davis, Katie Timm, and Natalie Timm. His granddaughters, Yanzary, Chantelle, Brooklyn, and Arya, his grandsons, Lawson, Easton, and Avery and his grand puppy, Bobo. His mother, Marilyn Timm, his brothers Doug (Mary) Timm, Greg (Debra) Timm, Rick Timm, Robert (Carol Molva) Timm, and his sister Mary Ann (Mark) Leitheiser. His sisters-in-law Nancy (Jon) Paulson, Cindy (Dale Bushard) Walters, Sue (Lamar) Black, and brother-in-law Rick Nesburg. And many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and his dear neighbors and friends, Dan and Cindy Hillesheim.

John was proceeded in death by his father, Fred Timm, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Lila Nesburg, his brothers-in-law, Tom Nesburg, Brian Nesburg, and Greg Nesburg, and nephew, Bryan Timm.
