Keith “Sam Schultz,” 54, of Sleepy Eye, died Friday, February 5, 2016, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis of a stroke due to complications following a brain aneurysm procedure.

Funeral service will be held at the St. Raphael Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 13, with The Rev. Phil Schotzko officiating.  Interment will be in St. Raphael Cemetery.

Sam was born July 9, 1961, in Springfield, Brown County, Minnesota, the fifth child of Arnold and Arlene (Willaby) Schultz. Sam attended Cobden country school through the fifth-grade and middle and high school at Springfield Public School, graduating with the class of 1979.  He attended Willmar Area Technical College where he made lifelong friends. He met the love of his life and married Michelle (Miki) Weber on November 13, 1982.

Sam was always up for a big hug and a hearty conversation with young and old. He was a very loving husband, a great father and amazing Farm Grandpa. His lifelong passion was farming. He enjoyed tractor pulls, vacations, dates with Miki, time with grandkids, and generally great conversations with all people. Sam could walk in any place and light up a room with his infectious smile. He possessed the gift of gab and humorous wit, always the comedian.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Miki, of rural Sleepy Eye; children, Ashlee (Benjamin) Suker of Mankato, Tyler (Sara) Schultz of Morgan, and Tyson Schultz of Mankato; three grandchildren, Theodore and Violet Suker and baby boy Schultz; his mother, Arlene (Willaby) Schultz; brothers, Jerry (Vicki) and Kevin (Carma); sister, Pam (Terry) Wendt and Connie (Gil) Dahlberg; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Schultz; and a niece, Jennifer Schultz.
