Kenneth ‘Kap’ Kastner


Kenneth “Kap” Howard Kastner, 91, Rochester and formerly of Lamberton, died January 26, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. Born July 5, 1924, in Lamberton, Kap served in the U.S. Army during WWII, attended college, then worked for the U.S. Postal Service — 13 years as a clerk in the Lamberton office and then transferred to become a rural carrier, serving that position for 20 years, and then working 7 years out of the Lakefield Post Office. After retiring, Kap managed the Farmers Golf and Health Club in Sanborn for four years. 

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Donna; son, Bruce (Karen) Kastner; daughter, Beth (Jim) Monntonye; six grandchildren; and great-grandson Bryten.

A memorial service was held n January 29 in Rochester. A formal service and burial will be held late spring in Lamberton.
