Lewis Goerish

Lewis Goerish, age 83 of rural Sanborn, died on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at his home.

Visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 12, will be followed by an 11:00 o’clock Memorial Service in St. Thomas Church in Sanborn. The Rev. Phil Schotzko will officiate at the service.  Interment will be in the Sanborn City Cemetery and will include military honors by Colburn American Legion Post 286.

Lewis Lee Goerish was born on August 11, 1934, in Germantown Township, Cottonwood
County, Minnesota, to Albert and Thelma (Fults) Goerish. He drove truck for Whiff’s and Halter Trucking for many years, and enjoyed wildlife, his cats and dog, and fishing and hunting moose in Canada. Lewis was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Parish and Colburn American Legion Post 286.

He is survived by his brothers, Edward (Lei Lani) Goerish, Charles (Sandy) Goerish, and Thomas (special friend Diane) Goerish; sisters, Elly (Frank) Trebesch, and Bev (Sal) Windschitl; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gerald and Roger Goerish; siblings, Robert and Theresa, in infancy; and sister-in-law, Gloria Goerish.
