She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orville Polzin; son, Lynn Polzin; son-in-law, Wesley Anacker; and brother, Lloyd Weckwerth.

Lorraine Edna Polzin was born January 6, 1930 to Emil and Edna (Schleusner) Weckwerth on the family farm in Stately Township, Brown County, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield, MN. Lorraine attended grade school in Dotson, MN, and graduated from Springfield Public High School in 1948. While attending high school, Lorraine worked as a kitchen aide at St. John’s Hospital. After graduating, Lorraine worked as a bookkeeper for Stenzel Motors in Springfield.

On January 4, 1949, Lorraine was united in marriage to Orville Frank Polzin at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield. Their union was blessed with two children, Carol and Lynn. While raising their children, Lorraine and Orville continued to farm until 1970. Lorraine enjoyed taking care of the farm animals, especially the dairy calves.

Lorraine and Orville moved to New Ulm after Orville’s illness. Lorraine worked at 3M and Dr. Martin Luther College during that time. In November of 2016, Lorraine moved to Ridgeway on German in New Ulm. In August of 2019, Lorraine moved to Skakopee to be closer to her daughter.

Lorraine’s family was central to her life. Spending time with her children on the family farm, having grandkids come for sleepovers, or attending any family event were just a few of Lorraine’s most treasured memories. She loved all the time she was able to spend with everyone.

Lorraine will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Blessed be her memory.

After I am gone, cry not tears of sorrow but tears of joy, because I will no longer be in pain.
